post 3: My precious (like the ring for Gollum)
I think that I´m not a good modern person. Ussually, I don´t value the technology like other people around me. But I´m very sure that my favorite piece of technology is my notebook, yes!, more that my cell phone. I have almost all my academic life in that device. Ussually, I work preparing the classes, answering questions from my students or some request from some work's partner; until I do therapy online. Also, normally, use that to entertainment: I play games, I keep in touch with friends through facebook, and when I have some time, I see movies. I think that I use my computer around 5 hours every day, maybe more.

Well, I need to do my third comment, so I will write an self-comment. I would like to add that my second piece of technology is the cellphone, but I`m not like those people who want to have the latest model. Its enough for me to be able to call, connect to internet and, above all, have an alarm to wake up every day.

Maybe, you know other people who wear technology artefacts even more but you use your notebook in many different moments of your day and for diferents purposes. I use my notebook a lot too and for that sometimes I travel to places without wifi or other kind of comunication. In my case, I really need disconnect myself sometimes. ResponderEliminarClau first loved "The Lord of the Rings" so I liked the reference, i think we share our love for the computer for what it represents in the academy. The possibility of work, writing, reading and communication is a device that allows you to create all the time. Each piece or technological device has the particularity that it can be personalized, that calls my attention, because we also give a part of us to technology.
